Conference Session Chair Needed!

Posted on Wednesday, September 12, 2007

The C&M Section needs a chair for a Conference 2008 session titled “Extreme Teen Marketing Makeover”. What does that actually mean? You would be responsible for working with the C&M Conference Chairman and the session speaker (who is already in place) to make sure all goes smoothly before and during the session. This is a great opportunity to get involved, so come on! E-mail Stephanie FitzSimons, our 2008 Conference Chair and say YES! SFitzsimons@barlettparks.org

Networking Opportunity/Dinner Program

Posted on Tuesday, September 4, 2007

Each year, PRSA National promotes the ethical practice of public relations by recognizing September as Ethics Month. The PRSA Suburban Chicagoland chapter is hosting a dinner program on Tuesday, September 11 that will include a discussion of the ethical practice of public relations with speakers Laurie Meyer, vice president of corporate communications for Walgreens, and Anthony Pagano of University of Illinois at Chicago.

The program will be held at Doubletree Hotel in Wood Dale (1200 N. Mittel Blvd.). Networking begins at 6:00 pm, and the program will follow at 6:30 pm.

As a member of the PRSA chapter, I wanted to invite C&M members to take advantage of this program. The cost is $27 for PRSA members and $40 for nonmembers. In addition to hearing great speakers, it’s a great networking opportunity!

There’s no pressure to register; I just wanted to give you the information in case you’re interested. You can click the link below to register.

As we get ready for the first ever Communications & Marketing Section Boot Camp this August 28 and 29, I couldn’t help but think of the great leaders of our time who’ve gone through boot camp and gained their stripes. Who could forget John Candy and Bill Murray in the classic movie, Stripes?

Get inspired with this trailer from the movie - then enlist yourself in the C&M Boot Camp - Sponsorship Training To Gain Results!

Website Development & Hosting

Posted on Monday, August 6, 2007

Hello, C&M members! I’m wondering if anyone can recommend a website development and/or hosting company that is reasonably priced and highly focused on customer service. Our current company both developed and hosts our website, but it is not essential that we find a new company that provides both services; a separate host and developer would be fine. As I start researching, does anyone know of a good company to consider? I would greatly appreciate any advice you guys can give! Feel free to contact me at spullara@fpparks.org or 847-451-8141.
